Slightly unrelated but I found out the other day what my blood type was and decided to search to see if there was any info on what it meant to have a certain blood type. Found out that with my blood type, I'm predisposed to heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Also that naturally, I thrive on a vegetarian diet since I have low stomach acid content. I also should stay away from acidic fruits because my digestive track can't handle them. Anyway, I found it super interesting maybe you will too.

It's hard to be vegetarian in Texas. And I'm right at the border of Mexico and my family's Mexican. We have a big stakeout every Sunday so I eat s lot of meat. That's probably why I'm so large. I'm 6ft tall. And 13 years old. I'm huge. LoL I love it.

Heey, can't talk about where to find healthy stuff 'cause I live in Brazil (and we have fluoride in water too). But Last year I became a vegetarian and this vegan. I really didn't really missed meat and that stuff, but I like to cook tasty stuff for the week.

I like to make a burguer with beans and some veggies, I just cook it and throw it in the blender and just and some spices, than I freeze it for the week. I loooove an Arbergine dish (basically chopped aubergine and bell pepper with olive oil, and take it to the oven for 30-40min. or to the microwave for 15-20min) and it's a really common dish in brazilian barbecues, so that's what I eat when I go to them. And for sweets, there is always avocado and cacao mousse. =D

Sorry for the looooooong comment ^^'

A tip would be not to eat when u r bored or even when u feel like u r hungry; you're probably thirsty but ur mind's playing games w ur body. So drink a glass of water before eating πŸ™‚ good luck

I feel your pain, Matt… I've stopped eating red meat 6 years ago because of the taste & lately I've just been realizing how fucked up the food industry is. It makes me really angry because I'm still in college and I don't have a big budget, especially for food but everything that is healthy is super expensive and I don't want to buy all the bullshit cause it makes me feel bad, physically, and it means that I support something that shouldn't be supported. So figuring out what to eat is a real struggle and a pain in the ass. What I have found pretty useful to discover the vegetarian, well I guess supply?, is to start with replacement foods like quorn and tofu. That way you get used to the non-meat part and get to know new vegetables and tastes and you still get protein and all the other vitamins we need . And like you said, go to farmer's markets and support small, independent businesses instead of franchised food chains. That's all I can say for now, I wish I could tell what stores to go to, but I'm not American (':

I think It's awesome that you are educating yourself on the subject. I have been a vegetarian for nearly two years, i thought i'd share some of the things that helped me during my switch. I don't know if any of them are non gmo unfortunately.
Vegetarian chilli is super savory. I am a huge veggie or garden burger fan, I eat mine on vegan pita bread it tastes 1 million times better.
Ive tried a variety of veggie burgers, my favorite are the malibu brand garden burger, morning star veggie burger, and morning star black bean burger.
I also reccomend morning star buffalo "chik patties" 100% vegetarian and they taste just like chicken, so much so,that i rarely eat them because i think my mind has gotten to the point where when i taste something that tastes like meat i don't like it very much.
Subway has a veggie pattie option in most locations,it is really good.
I also love my pizza with spinach, banana peppers, and black olives. I hope these reccomends will help someone when looking for new food options.
Also a way to deal with the hate towards vegetarian/veganism. Whenever someone starts to ridicule me, i tell them " I don't eat anything with a personality".
Also an amazing inspiration here on youtube for non gmo, 100% fully raw organic lifestle is "FullyRawKristina". Her recipies are amazing, and she is a true example of a cleansed, healthy body and soul.

Matthew glad you made it on the coolest side ever! Try Amy's foods or even Trader Joe's, ever tried Whole foods? Basically those 3 are all mostly vegetarian/vegan organic foods. Glad you've been doing well Matt. πŸ™‚

I'm actually trying the same thing.
Not sure if I'm going to go full vegan, but I'm mainly eating fruits, vegetables and someΒ fishΒ as of lately.
The most difficult thing is toΒ find good recipes for healthy vegeterian meals and avoid soda, chocolate and pastries.
But I've noticed that I'm way more energetic and ''awake'', so I really do believe that vegeterian food is the way to go.
I follow a few vegan youtubers who makes videos about their what they eat and share recipes, so that's helpful.
Good luck to you, Matt πŸ˜€

I've been watching your videos since I was about 11 & I'm 18 now, it's so crazy lol. Your style is so different but you still look hella cool. Anyways, so I'm vegetarian and it's cool that you're trying it out. I really love Mediterranean sandwiches. It's hummus, cucumber, sweet peppers, and feta all in a pita bread. Peanut butter and jelly is my favorite food though. There's a lot of veggie "meats" though which taste pretty yummy but you can't eat too much of those because of the soy. Spinach salads with watermelon and feta are also so delicious. Veggie burgers are heavenly. There's a lot of options out there for vegetarians and vegans so don't be afraid to try anything out!

With the increasing population, genetically modified foods will become more and more popular simply because of quantity and profit. Even with all the potential harm we no longer have an option, Ignoring environmental factors, the simple loss of arable land to an increasing population will require that the land we already have produce more.

My sister does a Farmer's Co-op because it ended up being cheaper for her to get vegetables that way. She gets really good vegetables, but you're kind of stuck with whatever they give you and its a lot even for 2 people sometimes. Idk how popular these things are in other states but that might be a good thing.

And yeah dog food is hard to find too because a lot of ingredients in dog food are poisonous.

A recipe I really like is using cauliflower as a rice substitute! I steam the cauliflower, throw it in a blender to chop into small pieces, then I put it in a pan with coconut oil, and some seasoning! (adding cilantro and lime makes for a really got Chipotle-esque flavor!)
Spaghetti squash is good too! I just cut it in half, clean out the seeds, put some avocado oil and season then stick it in the oven! (There's a little more prep to it, but it's still super easy!)

Other than daiya, and chef ernesto, I usually just substitute animal products for other things. But I never ate that much meat in the first place. :3

Not everything is GMO yet. Check out nongmoproject.org

I have been juicing to get the benefits of fruits and veggies. My main recipe is Kale, carrots, celery, and an apple or two depending on their size. It is delicious and even my son loves it. He gets upset if I make some and don't save him any. I only have done that once so I make sure I save some for him from then on. πŸ™‚

I am not so sure about fluoride being the only problem. I think crappy diet makes more of it based on my own experience. I grew up chewing those fluoride tablets at school etc. and my IQ is pretty excellent. I ate healthy as a kid though. My mom had a garden and I was always in it eating anything that was ripe. Especially the peas and radishes. Those were my two favorites.
