Animal protein is actually not beneficial to the body, especially in meat form. Consuming meat is acidic to our bones and releases calcium from the bones. I know what you are thinking, "so drink milk". Milk has other side effects too. I mean if you look at any society where this diet/lifestyle is practiced you see the negative long term and short effects on the society. Things like obesity, heart disease, etc..

They put a bacon commercial at the beginning of a vegan recipe video? Where is the logic?

To all the silly people who think meat is necessary for muscles, bones, blood, and general health etc – ask an elephant, a rhinoceros, or even a gorilla how he manages to survive :-))
Hey and milk is another mistaken attitude – we are the only mammal on earth that consumes milk after it has been weaned – It's actually really bad for us – the molecules are huge for our digestive systems to assimilate (or break down) hence loads of allergies and IBS problems, plus it isn't even from our mothers!

I'm not a vegan but I love vegan meals. They're low in calories and it's a great way to maintain a balanced diet.

A gammon joint is basically a ham joint which has been cured like bacon. It is different from a bacon joint in that it is a different cut, although a bacon joint can be used as a lower quality alternative. Gammon can be smoked or unsmoked. My preference is for the smoked variety, but this recipe can be made equally successfully with an unsmoked gammon, or indeed a ham joint if you wish.

I am not vegan but, I have killed my own food. Most people I know who have to kill their own food never look at meat the same way again. And I know very very few people who have ever killed a chicken/pig/cow

Vegans are usually stupid and overprotective and making to much of a fuzz about their own lifestyle. But the fact is there is a lot of things pointing towards humans being fruit and vegetable eaters from the start. The teeth, how we sweat, our hands, our intestines – they are the same as grass eaters. And a lot of research points toward that humans actually suffer from eating animal proteins!
And, tetosteron pumps out when eating meat, hormones creating anger and nulling intelligence!

@dstkl96 If something forces them to hunt their food by themselves, they would do it. And doing it, untill they don't have to do it by themselves so that someone can hunt their food again.

@HolySpringRolls I know the post is old but I disagree. Meat is very tasty….and addictive. I think that's why it's very commendable and telling of a person's character that a meat-eater can go vegetarian/vegan on principle. It is not an easy thing to do when you were raised on barbecue and bacon grease. Fat makes things tasty, unfortunately.

I think anyone who can do this is strong and deserve major kudos, imo.

Try parchment paper instead of foil; it's much healthier for you and the environment.
You can put the parchment paper in your organic matter recycling bin or blue box, instead of putting foil in the landfill, and you don't get any nasty metal artifacts in your food.

Isn't it odd that usually at the beginning of vegan/vegetarian videos, that McDonalds commercial for the breakfast whatever thing comes on? O.o That thing has to vegetables or fruit in any part of it, and no part of it is vegan x.x Very suspicious to me… Anyways! Loved the video, I shall try out this recipe 😉

    What the hell.

Why does she want to waste video time washing her hands?

It's a youtube cooking, this is NOT the food network.

Besides, any moron knows that the hand washing is IMPLIED.

This is about the recipe, not the hygiene.

Besides, if she scratched her ass before she made the food would it personally affect YOU?

Unless you are coming over for her vegan dinner party, I doubt it.
