Unhealthy snacking can sabotage a healthy diet and set back your progress! I get a lot of messages asking about healthy snacking ideas, so I thought I would make this vid on my favourite go-to snacks. They are all vegan, easy to make and primarily made from whole foods. Let me know your favourite snacks in the comments below!

Can you speak to the amount of sodium per serving in miso paste and your thoughts on this?

Peanut butter (oxidized oil from roasting of nuts at high heat) may not be the healthiest, but if one appears to be as fit as you it's probably fine. Your last two snacks look amazing. Also, Dr. Greger has at least 3 videos on the healthy aspects of dates and date sugar.

I've wanted to be vegan for a few years now. I went veg for about 6 months and had a difficult time sustaining it. I lacked the knowledge and support and it was disheartening. I recently found you on YouTube and my passion was reignited. I've been binging your vids since. I'm so excited to learn everything I can and pursue a wfpb diet. ♡ much love

The only item I would add to this video is being mindful of which fruits you combine together. Of the four fruit groups (acid, sub acid, sweet, and melons), fruits within the same category combine the best for ideal digestion. You can combine some groups together such as sub acid with acid and sub acid with sweet is fine, but acid and sweet is not a good combo and may ferment in your gut. The only exception is melons which should not be combined with any other group.

What about low carb bread? In my store they have a good fiber/carb ratio but the ingredients are not the best. Which is better, less processed and also less fiber or more processed but more fiber?

I heard that all nuts and seeds are better to be soaked in water overnight to remove something that is not good for our body. Tons of cooks and athletes mentioned that as well. I wonder if u knew about it?? thanks, like to hear your feedback about this matter

Bought bread is not good as it’s full of chemicals and most has either palm oil or vegetable oil. Make your own without oil, salt and sugar.

Unless apple is organic, don't eat skin unless you scrub hard. Supermarket apples are coated in a wax made from beatles. Prob not vegan lol. Scrub! Or peel. Or eat Organic.

I highly recommend making dried chickpeas for a crunchy savory snack. I drain and rinse 2 cans of chickpeas and bake then for about 90 minutes at 325. I spray a tiny bit of oil on them and then coat them with whatever spice I’m feeling. I’ve mainly done chili powder or onion and garlic, but I want to try nooch and dill next or maybe even cinnamon sugar.

Just give the pan a shake every 15 minutes or so and let them totally cool before packing them up.

    Enjoy!

Do you do anything else in your boring mundane life other then post videos of plants. We get it you’re vegan, that’s clear. Now do something else you’re like a 1 trick pony. Eat what you want I say, I look like you apart from I’m not losing my hair, 7.2% body fat and run marathons and eat meat. Dead animals taste good

Hi Derek, what about fruit combinations? I read about keeping acidic fruits separate from sweet fruits but I see you happily mix them all in the fruit salad. Something to keep an eye on or not so important?
